Joshua Tree is a tribute to my late younger brother Joshua, who passed away in 2013. It's dedicated to anyone who has lost someone or themselves.
Lyrics
People keep repeating, repeating your name
And I can't say in my mind it hasn't been the same
But every time that I hear it, my heart explodes
The world should be standing still but on and on it goes
It's time to unpack the guilt I've been carrying 'round
Knowing while I was living you are in the ground
It's not that I don't miss you, you know that I do
I just can't have my life become the death of you
And I know that it's not goodbye, it's I'll see you soon
Gotta live my life for both of us now,
me and you
It was always me and you
I can't keep staring at ceilings and wasting the sun
Waiting for you to come back when I know you've been gone
I can't keep crumbling when I see somebody like you, yeah
Knowing that there is nothing I ever could do
And I know that it's not goodbye, it's I'll see you soon
Gotta live my life for both of us now,
me and you
It was always me and you
Staying up all night and
Running through my mind's unhealthy
Should I have listened then,
Could I have heard your cries of help me?
Oh no no no no
Oh no no
Oh no no, oh
And I know that it's not goodbye, it's I'll see you soon
Gotta live my life for both of us now,
me and you
It was always me and you
Since we were two
I still feel you
I still miss you
Me and you
Me and you
